2 EATONAerospace Group TF100-96C June 2013 Eaton’s Carter product line includes Model 64162 pressure differential gauge, manufactured by Warner Lewis Filter-Industrie GmbH in Germany. The gauge is used to measure and record the pressure differential across a filter separator or monitor. Model 64162 is a direct acting piston differential pressure gauge with unique features to assist in accurate recording of differential pressures. Its rugged design makes it suitable for use on static or mobile vessels. An aluminum casing, along with a tough transparent screen, protects the glass tube. The piston Operation and Installation Model 64162 gauge (Options A-E) is furnished with (2) female ¼-inch NPTF ports. Option F provides G 1/8 metric ports for 6 mm tubing. Design Concepts is glass, allowing minimum clearances between the piston and the glass tube for improved accuracy. The maximum differential pressure experienced across the vessel is displayed on the gauge by means of a trailing piston along with the actual current reading on the main piston. Features • Direct acting piston gauge for accurate DP reading • “Bulls-eye” type viewer to eliminate chance of taking the reading at the wrong edge of the piston as is possible with other gauges 9.45 (240 mm) Typical installation— Fittings and valves shown to the left (above and below the gauge) are not furnished. Two 3-way valves can be used as an alternative to four 2-way. Petcocks 1 and 2 open; 3 and 4 closed Normal operation — P measured Petcocks 1 and 4 open; 2 and 3 closed Checks free movement of pistons Petcocks 2 and 3 open; 1 and 4 closed Resets trailing piston to starting position During startup gauge has to be flushed and filled from the clean side of the vessel and trailing piston reset to starting position. Cross hair must be set at “0” when gauge is depressurized. Screen can be reset to 0 by using the loosening the two screws on face. Option H — DP pressure switch connects across gauge between petcock setups to measure DP To high pressure or inlet of vessel To slop tank To low pressure or outlet of vessel To slop tank • Floating resettable piston to show maximum DP • 0-30 psi or 0-2 bar scales available with red line to show pressure at which element changes must be made • Maximum working pressure: 435 psi (30 bar) • Test pressure: 870 psi (60 bar) • Working temperature range: -40°F to +160°F (-40°C to +70°C) • Available with either metric or NPT threads • Weight — approximately 2.6 lbs (1.2 kg)
