Scully Biclops II Control Monitor Optic & Thermistor Overfill Prevention Systems Featuring Dynacheck®- Automatic & Continuous Self-Checking Circuitry The Scully Biclops II® is designed for use with Scully Optic, Thermistor, Instant-On and Intellicheck® truck mounted overfill prevention systems. Over 90% of all bottom loading terminals in the United States and Canada use Scully Overfill Prevention Rack Control Monitors. The Scully Biclops II offers all these advantages: • Maximum safety with Dynacheck® – automatic and continuous self-checking circuitry • Complete compatibility with Scully Optic, Thermistor, Instant-On sensors and the Intellicheck System • Monitors from 1 to 8 compartment tank vehicles • Approved by Factory Mutual (FM) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for use in Class I, Division 1, Group D hazardous locations • Signals for automatic shutoff of product flow within .5 seconds of detecting a potential overfill condition • 30 years of proven, dependable performance • Solid state relay technology Description The Scully Biclops II is a multi-mode overfill prevention control monitor with solid state relay technology. It features both thermistor and optic sensing capabilities. It is mounted at the loading-rack and connects to the vehicle via a Scully Sculcon® Junction Box Plug and Cable Unit. Safety Features The Biclops II incorporates Scully’s unique and exclusive Dynacheck circuitry. Using pulsed signals which continuously simulate an “unsafe” condition, the monitor automatically and continuously checks the entire system operation; controller, wiring, connectors and sensors, for faults up to 30 times per second. If a sensor comes in contact with liquid, or in the event an unlikely fault occurs within the system itself, the pulsed signals cease and the Biclops II signals for immediate shutdown of the loading system. No operator involvement is needed! This insures that the system will always be able to detect an overfill condition. The Biclops II provides the vehicle with an adequate static ground path to the rack provided the vehicle is installed and maintained to factory specifications. For additional ground proving options, consult brochure #60733 for information on the Scully Groundhog™ Self-Proving Grounding System. System Options A Thermistor Only Unit is available for racks which do not require optic capability. A Bypass Switch is provided which allows terminal personnel to load without overfill protection. CAUTION. Extreme caution should be taken when the system is operated in this mode. Setting New Standards In Safety Scully Signal Company, 70 Industrial Way, Wilmington, MA 01887 U.S.A.
