When the Flo-Max Coupler disconnects, two swing checks close immediately. The inlet swing check, located on the male half of the coupler, remains with the nurse tank hose and prevents the nurse tank from releasing NH3. The outlet swing check remains with the tool bar preventing a release of NH3 from all piping or vessels located on the tool bar. To ensure long term operation, the manufacturer recommends that under normal service conditions this product should be inspected at least once a year and be repaired or replaced as required. This action can be done with one hand, leaving the other free to insert the mating nipple back into the valve side of the coupling without strain. Once the nipple has been securely snapped back into place, release pressure on the handles of the tool, allowing the retaining sleeve to slide back into a secured position.
