This allows for the use of smaller piping and can contribute to substantial savings. Care must be taken in colder climates to ensure that the pressure setting does not create dew point concerns that could cause the propane vapour to condense back to a liquid resulting in regulator freeze-ups and possible problems at the burner. CANADA’S LEADER IN ENERGY PRODUCTS EQUIPMENT 5 REGULATORS DOMESTIC REGULATORS Second Stage Regulators Second stage regulators are used to satisfy the inlet requirements of the appliance and are typically designed to provide propane appliances with a delivery pressure between 9-13” W.C. As the second stage regulator of a 2 stage system, this model works with an inlet pressure usually between 4 to 10 PSI. This allows it to maintain a consistent delivery pressure to the load - regardless of ambient temperatures that affect the pressure of fuel in the storage tank. Line sizing from the outlet of the regulator is critical for proper performance, of which the B149 code book provides tables for. Fisher Second Stage Regulators Constructed of corrosion-resistant and wear-resistant materials, R600 Series Fisher Regulators are designed to provide a recommended replacement life of 20 years (a 30% improvement over previously existing designs). The R622 and 652 Fisher Regulators are designed to exceed the UL requirements of NFPA 58 by ensuring that the outlet pressure will never exceed more than 2 PSI – even in a double failure situation when used with the R622H series first stage regulators. These are typically installed on a tank that is located within 30 feet of the appliance or load. This distance can be extended based on the BTU capacity of the application, but care must be taken with line sizing in order to ensure that the appliance inlet pressure requirements are met. Fisher Integral Twin Stage Regulators Features all the benefits of the 600 series in a single compact design; plus with improved flow capacity at cold temperature (-40ºF). The R232A Series is also available with a 90º vent option allowing the unit to be easily mounted under the dome of a cylinder with the vent pointed down. They may be used on a distribution system when used with a first stage regulator downstream in the piping system. The 64SR (with internal relief) may be used as a first stage regulator when set at 10 PSI. Suitable for liquid or vapour at temperatures below 150º F, these regulators are popular for use with crop dryers, high pressure burners and other medium sized commercial/industrial applications. Adequate relief protection must be provided by the remaining relief valve in the manifold. Bleeder valves relieve vapour pressure under each relief valve after closing the manifold port, and each port can be closed separately, meeting code requirements. Soft seats allow bubble tight closure of each port. The ME904S Series is designed for use with large LPG & NH3 stationary storage containers with flanged openings. These Relief Manifolds have an additional relief valve excluded from the flow rating, which allowing for service and/or exchange of any one relief valve without evacuating the tank.
