Veeder-Root Sensor Application Guide 8 Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensors The Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensors immediately shut down AC power to the dispenser when fluid is detected in the dispenser pan. These sensors control and shut down power to the dispenser without the need for additional relays, circuitry, wiring, or consoles. The separate sensor control interface ensures intrinsically-safe integrity in a Class I Division II hazardous area. Two models of Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan sensors are available: • Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensor - liquid level detection only (Form Number 847990-001). • Discriminating Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensor - separate liquid level detection for hydrocarbons and water (Form Number 847990-002). Sensor Detection Capabilities - Alarm Conditions • Non-Discriminating Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensor Dispenser shut down when liquid level reaches a nominal height of 1.5-inch in sensor. • Discriminating Stand-Alone Dispenser Pan Sensor Dispenser shut down either when hydrocarbon level reaches a nominal height of 0.125-inches in sensor, or when water reaches a nominal height of 6.5-inches in sensor. Operating Capabilities • Operating temperature range: 0 to +70°C (for freezing liquids), -40 to +70°C (for hydrocarbons). • Storage temperature range: -40 to +70°C. • Controls most manufacturer’s dispensers. • Connects directly to dispenser wiring. • Latching alarm circuitry ensures dispenser can’t be restarted until hazardous condition has been corrected. • Cable length: 5 feet. • Sensor dimensions: 11.6” high, 2.2” diameter. • Control Interface dimensions: 9.4” high, 2.2” diameter. Compatible Fuels • Unleaded gasoline • Unleaded with up to 5% methanol, 15% ethanol, or 15% MTBE • Leaded gasoline • Diesel • Kerosene • Jet fuel • Aviation gasoline Installation Accessories Universal Sensor Mounting Kit, P/N 330020-012, contains sensor mounting brackets and screws.
