Veeder-Root Sensor Application Guide 9 Discriminating Interstitial Sensor for Double-Wall Fiberglass Tanks The Discriminating Interstitial Sensor for double-wall fiberglass tanks uses solid-state liquid level sensing technology to detect liquid in the interstitial space of the tank. The sensor also can differentiate between hydrocarbons and other liquids. Sensor Detection Capabilities - Alarm Conditions • Hydrocarbons trigger a Fuel Alarm. • Liquid other than hydrocarbons trigger a Water Alarm. • An open sensor triggers a Sensor Out Alarm. Operating Capabilities • Operating temperature range: -10 to +55°C. • Storage temperature range: -40 to +70°C. • Sensor dimensions: 4.3” length, 1.5” width, 0.5” thickness. Console Compatibility TLS-450, TLS-350R, PC-350R, TLS-350Plus, and PC-350Plus consoles Console Software Compatibility TLS-350 series (Version 2 or later), TLS-450 (All) Sensor Interface Module • TLS-350 series - Type A Sensor interface module (P/N 329956-001) accepts up to 8 sensors (a maximum of 64 sensors could be monitored by the console). • TLS-450 - USM (P/N 332812-001) accepts up to 16 sensors Compatible Fuels • Unleaded gasoline • Unleaded with up to 5% methanol, 15% ethanol, or 15% MTBE • Leaded gasoline • Diesel • Kerosene • Jet fuel • Aviation gasoline Sensor/Cable Length Configuration Discriminating Interstitial Sensor for Fiberglass Tanks with 25-foot cable - Form Number 794380-343 Related Sales Literature Visit our website at www.veeder.com for more information on Veeder-Root products and services. 4'' dia. riser Cord grip Weatherproof junction box with 1/2-inch N.P.T. threads (16 Cubic inch volume minimum) 14'' min. dia. manhole Seal-off Fiberglass tank sensors\dfsenap.eps 1/2'' rigid conduit (to Console) Sensor Switch must reach bottom of tank Fig. 6 Typical Interstitial Sensor Installation - Fiberglass UST
