For simplification, the following table of factors is ex-
pressed entirely as multiplication of a known unit and
quantity, to transpose it to a desired equivalent unit and
quantity. The powers of ten are used to reduce the length
of unwieldy numbers, and to assist in the proper place-
ment of the decimal point in the result.
